FIRST DESIGNER COLLECTIVE: ESSENCE FOR PRE-FALL 2015 MEDIA EVENT

ESSENCE; of gracefulness, quiet confidence and feminine demeanour. These elemental qualities married with the blue peony directional print, inspired the theme and setting for the evening.
14 August 2015 - VainGloriousYou unveils ESSENCE in the presence of many notable fashion and media personalities. The stakes are raised with an intimate live fashion showcase, beautifully captured in the video above.
VainGloriousYou Pre-Fall 2015 pays a tribute to florals, a timeless signature of VainGloriousYou and focuses on a diversity of contemporary silhouettes for the global women of today. 12 key pieces headline ESSENCE, from statement making pieces to mix & match ready-to-wear coordinates.
ESSENCE also marks the formal inception of Founder & Creative Director Tricia as the main designer in the house of VGY and she shares, “The thought process behind designing ESSENCE pieces stems from being able to design clothes that can create an emotional impact for the woman wearing it.”
The Anastasia Maxi exhibited in full bloom, flowing gracefully with fluid movements. The second key piece of the capsule collection, Leah Peplum Top and Alder Pants, displays a “softer” alternative to power dressing for the workplace.
Partnering brand The Dessert Party (Website), designed an ESSENCE themed dessert table, paying great attention to even the simplest detail - from the menu to the cutlery used (spot blue icing cupcakes, hand dyed floral arrangements and blue floral napkins!). Additionally, Less Salt Diet (Instagram) was spot on for the requirements for ESSENCE, providing bite sized healthy snacks. It is the first time that Less Salt Diet, an Indonesian Brand is venturing into event catering and this collaboration certainly came at an opportune moment!
Makeup and hair are an accessory to fashion. Through creative and collaborative methods, VainGloriousYou have partnered with French Luxury Brand Guerlain (Instagram) and trendsetting Hair Salon, Salon Vim (Website) to engineer a cohesive and inspiring look for this entire designer collective. To complement the rich blue peony print, the mantra of “less is more” is infused in the overall aesthetic of ESSENCE.
ESSENCE inspired makeup is natural and soft, with slight definition at the eye area using a mix of varying nude to brown hues. Warm peach and rose blush contours the face with a nude pinkish lipstick to polish the look. Trending this season is the new low ponytail, gathered at the nape of the neck. In front, the hair looks simple and sleek but the contrasting coiffed texture in the back gives it a modern twist.
The live fashion showcase ended on a high note following a short address by Tricia to the valued guests. Guests also took to the opportunity to explore and capture moments with the elegant floral decorations artistically displayed by Inside The Knot (Website). Breath-taking white roses filled the store front display and a white floral wall was constructed for major photo booth action. The decorations will only be in the store till the 2nd week of September, so do make a trip down to preview and capture your moments with them!
The SWAN BY VGY area where ESSENCE pieces were presented on, had an overhaul thanks to the efforts of the kind folks at the Retailers Market (Instagram). The marble laminated wall is a stark contrast to the black walls, lending to an comfortable shopping experience for the guests to preview the pieces and relate to our brand’s story.
The winner of the prize of 2D1N stay at one of the signature lofts (worth $330) at the stylish and modern hotel, Studio M (Website/Instagram)! Congratulations Janne for this win and we hope to get updates on your staycation experience!
The second prize of a pampering session of Divine-O-Facial/ Proionic Facial and $200 product gift voucher, with a total value of $660 from Porcelain Face Spa (Website) was very luckily won by a male guest (we are sure your lady will love you for it!).
